LONGO EBAY PICKUP

It's been a while since I bought a card off ebay, but I did not want to get into Topps Archives so I just went ahead and bought one of the only ones from the set I wanted. It cost $5 bucks with free shipping, and the best part was it was BIN. I enjoy collecting Longo, but I wish I would stumble on something awesome!

DBACKS vs BREWERS

I had an opportunity to watch BP from the field. It was a great experience and one that I will never forget.

My girlfriend and I on the field.

Paul Goldschmidt signed for us while we were on the field.  He was very nice, and had no problem signing a few things for us. He mentioned that he had never even seen his Gypsy Queen series card. Thanks Paul! I appreciate your time.

I have never been close to a foul ball... Ever! Until Last night when this ball came whizzing by and I caught it!!! I was going to give it to this kid next to me, but it was the first one I have ever gotten. (Sorry Kid)

Since we started dating, we have always enjoyed going to games.  Even early on when we had very little extra money we would always find a way to go. I don't know anyone else I would rather share a bleacher seat with :)

Right after the NFL season got underway this past year, I noticed that Patrick Peterson was doing a free signing at a local furniture store. I hope he gets a better signature now that he is not a rookie. Regardless of how he signs his name, he sure is an explosive young football talent.

Bowman '12

While checking out today at Wal-Mart I had this urge to buy some cards. I went to a card show yesterday and left disappointed so ever since I have been feigning to get some. Since I missed the card show that I wanted to attend today I sandwiched a box of cards on the belt at Wal-Mart in between my girlfriends things and acted cool about it. I picked up a box of Bowman '12 instead of Topps '12 mainly because its newer and I really want one of those Red Ice Longo cards. All but the Sean Buckley Orange Auto were found in this box.

Inaugural Opening Day

March 31st will always be a special day for me.
I really had no interest in baseball until I attended a regular season game. I grew up in Clearwater, Florida so I got a heavy dose of the Grapefruit league well before I knew the Rays were going to exist. I had some family friends that really took me in and would take me to just about any event in the Tampa Bay area. So the night before this game, I got a call asking if I would like to go. I almost said no, but my mom volunteered me to go. As soon as I woke up that morning I started getting excited to go since everyone was talking about it. Once we arrived at the Trop I was in awe, and I have been ever since. From that moment on Baseball has made a huge impact on my life, and the Rays are still my favorite team.
Wilson Alvarez threw the first pitch, and Luis Gonzalez (who is he?) hit the first HR in Tropicana Field against the Rays. Tigers won 11-6

Jus10 up10 signing

This past Saturday 5/12, I was able to make the Justin Upton signing at Tempe Marketplace AT&T. Justin was signing from 11am-12pm but my girlfriend and I arrived early to ensure that I got my ASG program signed. I've taken it to almost every game i've been to since the game trying to get him to sign but it never happens. The line started getting long once he started signing, but I was in and out by 11:15. He signed the program and a ball, but his signature kind of threw me off. I have some other items signed by him from last year, but maybe he changed it up for 2012.... Maybe that's why he is slumping right now!
Oh well.... Thanks J-UP!

WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!

Back in 2003, I attended a dinner/signing at Raymond James Stadium in celebration of the Super Bowl win!  You paid an admission, and in return they would give you this book that was filled with summaries, stats, and facts from the 2002 Super Bowl season. All the players were in attendance, but you did not know who was going to be at your assigned table. I had Derrick Brooks, Anthony "Booger" McFarland, Simeon Rice, Keyshawn Johnson, and a few others. It was a blast, but I never got to meet Mike Alstott :(

2003 RAYS ASG BOBBLER

2003 All-Star Game Limited Edition Hand Painted Bobble Head 66/5,000

For my first true post I wanted to display one of my favorite items I have. I've moved quite a bit through the course of my 25 years, but this guy has stood the test of time. They displayed 8 foot versions of these in Chicago to commemorate the ASG. I got this signed by the 2003 lone Devil Rays All-Star RP Lance Carter, the Rookie DH/OF Johnny Gomes ( He had just suffered a severe heart attack the year prior),  RP Brandon Backe, and one of my favorite young Rays at the time Joey Gathright who signed the bottom. This also stands out because it was my first game I paid for myself. The Rays lost to the Yankees 3-4.
