Back From Hiatus (ebay rant)

Well it sure has been a while since my last update. I have been so busy with adapting to a new position at work, school, and home, that I have not had too much extra time to get on the computer. With me being new to the hobby, it can be difficult to make substantial posts. I have an interesting story today, and I hope that I was not the first idiot to do this (I more than likely am).

Over the past few days, I have been looking at purchasing this lot of 2012 Bowman Sterling Auto cards         (Miley redemption, Strayhan, Skaggs, and Owings) (Actual ebay picture above). It was at $4.99 for the longest time, so I decided to go after it today. 2 minutes and it is still at $4.99, so as time dwindled down I went for it. Once I hit $6, I decided to back off of it. I seriously thought that I hit unwatch item, but I placed a higher bid and ended up taking the lot for $7.01 with $2.50 shipping. It took me a good 3 hours to justify that it was a good deal, mainly because I only wanted the lot for Miley. After going grocery shopping, my girlfriend talked me into feeling better about my purchase, but I still felt pretty terrible about it. I get home to pay the bill, log-in to ebay, and notice easily one of the most disheartening things ever..... It was just a Skaggs auto. Talk about bummer! I can think of tons of cards I would rather have had in it's place that I have passed up (Fernando Rodney Rays Topps Heritage high number comes to mind, the card is $1 but I continue to pass it up). What was I thinking! How did I made this mistake? I must have been destined to have this card, but I can't help but have severe animosity towards it. Has anyone else made that mistake? I feel terrible.

  1. I made a similar mistake one time. I bid on a card that didn't have a picture and I thought I was getting a heck of a deal on a Harmon Killabrew autograph one time only to discover that the set name had the name "Signature" or "Auto" (not sure which one now) but the card was not signed.
